This is a stocking that I stitched especially for the cover of Just Cross Stitch magazine in 1986. Phyllis Hoffman Depiano wanted to feature my newly published Sampler Stockings so she asked me to make a stocking to go with the others for the cover of the magazine. I did the Christmas story from the gospel of Luke for these first seven Sampler stockings.
