In 1988 we spent a very special year in a village outside of Cambridge, England. My friends in the village were avid gardeners. One dear friend in particular told me about Christmas Roses that bloomed around Christmas time. I had never heard of such a thing. In Massachusetts, where we lived at the time, you would never see a Christmas rose. The weather has always been just too brutal. Around Christmas that year, she brought me a Christmas rose. I sketched it and designed these ornaments around the wonderful English Christmas rose.
